About ATOMS

The Association of Trauma Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ATOMS) was envisioned by the faculties of KGMU, Prof. Amiya Agarwal and Prof. Arunesh Kumar Tiwari, whose foresight and dedication to trauma care inspired the establishment of a specialized platform for oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Recognizing that this demanding field needed focused academic exchange, structured mentorship, and unified standards of care, they laid the foundation for what would become ATOMS.

To transform this vision into reality, a committee was commissioned, bringing together a group of passionate and like-minded professionals who shared the same belief—that excellence in trauma care could only be achieved through collaboration and shared learning. This committee played a pivotal role in shaping the principles, objectives, and structure of the association. What began as an idea among a few soon grew into a collective mission, as surgeons across the country came forward to contribute their expertise and energy.

ATOMS was thus created not merely as an organization but as a community built on collaboration, innovation, and service. Its purpose is to advance knowledge, encourage research, mentor young surgeons, and ensure that patients everywhere benefit from the highest standards of maxillofacial trauma care.
